Condolences to the Family of Robert Leslie

Robert Edward Leslie, aged 67, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 4, 1956, in Gloversville, NY, to his mother Lois Werle Leslie and the late Ronald Leslie.

Bob was a proud graduate of Broadalbin High School, class of 1974. He excelled as an all-around athlete, participating in football, basketball, and track during his school years. His passion for sports extended into adulthood, where he became a self-employed Harness Horse Owner, Trainer, and Driver, operating the Robert Leslie Racing Stables in Saratoga Springs.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Bob had a zest for life. He found joy in motorcycle racing, deer hunting with his lucky gun, and the freedom of riding his Harley. He was an avid fan of San Francisco 49ers football and enjoyed the thrill of a good thoroughbred race. Bob’s competitive spirit really showed when he played Pitch, his favorite card game, with his family and friends.  Among his favorite pleasures were his favorite chocolate mayonnaise birthday cake, his sister's blueberry pancakes and her homemade bread pudding.

Bob is survived by his loving mother, Lois A. Leslie; his devoted siblings, Christine E. Ward and her husband Donald W. Ward, Donald G. Leslie and his life partner, Wendy Perham, Charlene S. Musolff and her husband George W. Musolff; Lynne Kraeger partner in life with his late brother John R. Leslie; and his cherished nieces and nephews. Bob leaves behind many friends who will deeply miss his fun-loving spirit.  Bob’s family and friends will miss his smile, laughter, and his heart of gold.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald E. Leslie, and his brother, John R. Leslie.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Compassionate Funeral Care, located at 402 Maple Ave. (Route 9.), Saratoga Springs, NY.
