Condolences to the Family of Gerald D'Alessandro

Gerald N. D'Alessandro, 78, died peacefully on March 14, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary D'Alessandro. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968 and earned the Bronze Star Medal with valor. Gerald retired from Verizon Communications after 33 years. He was an avid lover of horse racing and was a lifelong horse owner. When he was not spending time at the Saratoga Harness Track, he enjoyed playing golf and spending time at the Ballston Spa Country Club. Gerald and his wife spent the last 20 winters in their house in Ocala, Fla., where he loved entertaining his family and friends. He cherished his time with his wife, children and grandchildren and spoke proudly of their accomplishments.

Relatives and friends are invited to a "celebration of life" on Friday, March 31, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Ballston Spa Country Club, 1366 Amsterdam Rd, Ballston Spa

Military honors services will be held on Friday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY

Contributions may be made in memory of Gerald N. D'Alessandro to the American Heart Association.
