2025 Charity Match Race

The Saratoga Harness Horsepersons Association, Inc and Saratoga Casino Hotel are hosting the 2025 Charity Match Races, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Saratoga Casino Hotel, 342 Jefferson Street, Saratoga Springs, NY. Live Harness Racing begins at 6:45 pm and the Charity Match races are tentatively scheduled after the 8th and 10th race. The charities for this event are the Franklin Community Center, Inc and Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
The Franklin Community Center provides services to all ages throughout Saratoga County with Project Lift, Student Services, Food Pantry, Franklin Free Store and Franklin Manor.
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation provides after racing care for thoroughbreds throughout the United States. The foundation provides adoption and retirement services for horses. They have a second chance program and sanctuary facilities in multiple states.
Team Franklin Community Center consists of driver Brett Beckwith and Sietske Spagnola.
Team Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Inc consist of jockey Katie Davis and retired jockey Trevor McCarthy.
There are two races; Sietske and Katie will race under saddle and Brett and Trevor will compete in race bikes. The funds collected will be divided between each race and 1st place receives 60% of the purse and 2nd place receives 40% of the purse, respectively for each race.
Considering the funding for the “purse” is derived through sponsor donations, the Saratoga Harness Horsepersons Association, Inc would appreciate your support for the Charity Match Race.
